As baby gets older their interests change. They are always looking for new, exciting multi-sensory opportunities to stimulate learning and development. Sensory Treasures enable your child to learn and develop in their own unique way. For the older baby/child Sensory Treasures provide items of interest, providing real world experiences and materials. Baskets and bags can contain material, shapes, brushes, scarves, wood, chain, etc You might not think to give baby a length of chain, metal bowl, wooden spoon or a whisk! The sensory benefits are so worth the adventure. Metal feels cool compared to wood, they feel different in weight. They make different sounds, and taste different to plastic. Baby will be working this out and discovering the difference for themselves. As parents, we are always observing our child in order to find out what they are interested in. By putting items inside the dish and basket baby is finding out what fits while learning about capacity (Early Maths). Manipulating, holding, reaching, stretching will benefit physical skills. Listening to the sounds that they make will support listening skills as they listen for the sounds they like to hear most. Leading their own learning is beneficial to them as we are all different and learn in our own way. Sensory Treasures enables this to happen, by providing items tailored to your unique child.
